CAPITAL STROKE UPDATE: ASIAN MARKETS 23-Feb-2016

Most major markets in Asia extended gains on Tuesday following another positive finish on Wall Street overnight, led by upticks in the energy sector. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.76 percent, while the broader Topix index added 0.46 percent. The Japanese yen remained strong against the dollar, with the dollar-yen pair remaining around the 112-handle at 112.86 in morning trade. Across the Korean Strait, the Kospi was up 0.24 percent.
