Asian stocks traded mixed on Wednesday, overlooking gains on Wall Street overnight and following a bigger-than-anticipated trade deficit from Japan.
China’s Shanghai Composite declined 0.36 percent or 8.06 points at 2,237.27. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.23 percent or 57.43 points at 25,065.52.
Singapore’s Straits Times was up 0.22 percent or 7.29 points at 3,323.72.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted added 0.29 percent or 26.38 points at 9,270.16. South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 2,070.74 and Japan’s Nikkei was flat at 15,459.29.
