The US markets ended mixed with the Dow extending
its gains to post a record high for the second-straight day, amid signs of
improvement in the labor market. The CBOE volatility index closed above 13.
Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.30% or 42.47 points at 14,296.24. Nasdaq Composite was down 0.05% or 1.76 points at 3,222.37. Standard & Poor-s 500 was up 0.11% or 1.67 points at 1,541.46.
