The US markets end near session highs in choppy
trading, with the Dow close to hitting its record closing high, as investors
shook off earlier worries over China and a lack of progress over the sequester.
Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.27% or 38.16 points at 14,127.82. Nasdaq Composite added 0.39% or 12.29 points at 3,182.03. Standard & Poor-s 500 gained 0.46% or 7 points at 1,525.20.
