Asian equities were mixed on Tuesday due to pressure from oil prices, while investors tread water ahead of a Federal Reserve meeting later in the day.
China’s Shanghai Composite added 0.62 percent or 14.11 points at 2,304.54.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.45 percent or 103.45 points at 23,246.68.
Japan’s Nikkei declined 0.60 percent or 92.92 points at 15,295.80.
Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.49 percent or 15.67 points at 3,210.44.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.20 percent or 3.83 points at 1,928.14.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted jumped 1.43 percent or 123.15 points at 8,750.93.
