Asian equity markets rose on Thursday following upbeat economic data from China and as the region’s earnings season got under way.
Japan’s Nikkei was up 0.20 percent or 31.19 points at 15,359.75. Singapore’s Straits Times rose 0.16 percent or 5.32 points at 3,346.02.
China’s Shanghai Composite jumped 0.68 percent at USD 14.18 points at 2,092.67. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.31 percent or 73.12 points at 24,044.99.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite added 0.26 percent or 5.35 points at 2,033.67. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 0.15 percent or 14.39 points at 9,513.75.
