Asian equity markets were trading lower on Friday. Straits Times and Taiwan Weighted were down 0.7 percent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng plunged 0.49 percent or 122.51 points at 24,634.34. Japan’s Nikkei slipped 0.29 percent or 45.90 points at 15,574.87.
Singapore’s Straits Times shed 0.75 percent or 25.17 points at 3,348.89. South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.14 percent or 2.92 points at 2,073.20.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted declined 0.77 percent or 71.74 points at 9,244.11. China’s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,203.10.
